HELLO & WELCOME
I’m Bailey, a freelance Scientific Illustrator and graphic designer based in Metro Detroit.
The natural world has always been a big part of my life.
Like art, my interest in nature started at a young age with the help of both my parents. My father owned a local fly-fishing shop, where I spent the first 6 years of my life. I could name every North American fish before I could read (thanks to the illustrated Buck Wilder series).
My education continued with raising Monarch butterflies with my mom. As I got older we started experimenting with natural dyes and fibers among other textile crafts.
Working as a science communicator, I feel privileged to finally be a part of something that speaks to both sides of my brain. It feels really good to know that my work is helping a lab's research get more recognition and support. With the way things are going in the world today, I think scientists are our greatest allies and I am proud to offer work that can support them.
Please reach out if you have any questions, collaboration ideas, or just to say hi!
